Quad Bike Safaris Frequently Asked Questions
The following are answers to the most frequently asked questions we have been asked in the past
How old do I have to be?
4 Track Adventures has a minimum age of 14 years old to ride the bikes on the safaris, this is also subject to the guides discretion making sure the client is in control of the bike before departure.
Can you double on bikes?
Yes you can double but we have a limited amount of bikes for doubling. Doubler pays half price with every full paying adult. Minimum age for doubling is 5 years old.
Do I need a license?
No, you don't! In fact you don't even need to know how to drive a car! The bikes are very easy to learn how to ride and full tuition and instructions are given to each individual on an individual basis.
What if it's raining?
Weather does not effect the departure of our safaris as the quad bikes perform equally as well in either wet or dry conditions. In over 20 years of business we have never postponed or cancelled.
What sort of bikes do you have? (will I ride?)
The majority of our fleet are current model Honda TRX250EX sports quads. Very light and easy to ride. The rest of the fleet are the Big Red TRX300s. They are very stable and require the use of your arms and legs to control the bikes.
How many bikes do you have?
4 Track Adventures runs up to 20 bikes on any tour.
Is it difficult?
The bikes are easy to learn how to ride and full tuition and instructions are given. The guide is constantly in touch with the riders progress during the safari, evaluating skills and advising where necessary. The guide will tailor the tracks to the riders capabilities.
What do I need to bring/wear?
You need to wear boots or sneakers (strong closed in footwear), long pants and suitable clothing for the time of year. Wet weather gear is provided for the bike safaris in case of rain. Make sure you bring your camera, but please consider how you will carry it on the bike.
Do we get to the beach?
The Coastal Views and Beach Blaster Safaris both make it out to the beach, the Trail Blazer takes in forest trails only.
Can I take photos?
Yes we recommend you do, however be sure to consider how you will carry your camera (bring a bum bag or small backpack to carry your camera in).
